Some albums arrive with a story that makes them impossible to ignore. Soundtrack For The Twenty One Bus Home is the debut studio album from Astles — the project of UK singer-songwriter Dan Astle — and it's one of the most quietly devastating records we've come across in a long time.
The album is inspired by Dan's late Uncle Joseph, and the mixtape of the same name he left behind. Joe took his own life when Dan was just six months old, but through the records, clothes, and meaningful items Joe left behind, Dan found a way to build a relationship with someone he never got to know. Eleven songs that tell that story with extraordinary tenderness and grace.
