These are brand new cassette tape players in black in a similar style to the discontinued Sony Walkmans for audio cassette tapes with auto-reverse, a USB connection for downloading tapes onto your computer, a 3.5mm headphone jack, volume control and basic headphones.
These are an entry level tape player, but a good option to get started in listening to cassettes on the go, also with a bonus feature of the ability to digitise any old cassettes you have.
The players are compact, measuring 113mm x 30mm x 90mm and weighing only 174g. They require 2 x AA batteries to run (estimated play time 6 hours), although can also be powered by a 3V 500mA power supply (not included).
If you are looking for a higher end option for a portable player, the next upgrade from these would be:
- Search for a refurbished vintage "walkman" unit (ebay etc), the ones produced in the late 90s, early 2000s particularly by Sony were great quality
- There are new players available now, from companies such as FIIO and "We Are Rewind" these generally cost $180-$300 but do include new features such as bluetooth, various colours and accessories
