Love As Fiction Records is excited to release the brand new album from Dappled Cities "The Aquarium" on vinyl in 2026. Since their 2004 debut album, Dappled Cities have won acclaim for their ARIA nominated records and brought their frenetic and captivating sound to stages across the world.

The Aquarium is Dappled Cities’ most personal record to date. Recorded over seven beautiful days in the idyllic countryside of The Grove studios, the album examines the madness of the world we find ourselves in, begs for forgiveness from future generations and finds hope in the simplest of joys.

Dappled Cities are also thrilled to announce their first Australian tour in many moons. In  support of the release of their 6th studio album, The Aquarium, the beloved Sydney band bring their blistering live set back to Australian stages with shows in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Wollongong.

Fresh off the back of their time in the UK, where they launched first singles Timebomb and Aurora, the band eagerly return home to perform new tracks, alongside classic favourites, for their Australian fans.

*Low Carbon PVC Compound (Note from Suitcase Records).

There has been a significant push within the manufacturing industry to develop more sustainable and environmentally friendly compounds for making records. In the past, most of these compounds have produced inferior quality records which made the compounds unsuitable for commercial production. This has now changed, and there is a new compound available that reduces the Co2 output of vinyl record compound by 92.5%, compared to the standard available compounds on the market. 

This is achieved by improvements in the manufacturing processes for compounds which reduce energy and water usage, new stabilisers that do not use metals of any kind, bio based lubricants, and the replacing of some fossil fuel raw materials with bio based materials in the base compound. 

Suitcase Records have undertaken internal testing of this new compound, and the results are fantastic. There is no impact to production, visually the records look as beautiful as ever, and most importantly, there is no discernible difference to audio quality.
